Workshops

Dance workshops teach choreography based around one specific idea, in a self-contained, one-off schedule. By the end of the workshop you’ll be able to perform a specific dance, which depending on the class might be based around a story you’ve seen performed by grand ballet companies, a fairytale from favourite childhood books or entirely new work developed by guest choreographers.

We run various workshops over the course of the year, designed for different levels of proficiency and with different styles of dance involved, so keep an eye on this page or sign up to our newsletter to learn more about our upcoming dates! Below you’ll find the current workshop information for anything currently available to book – just get in touch via [email protected] or on 07794 201531 and let us know which workshop you’d like to attend.

Easter Dance Workshop

Our Easter Dance Workshop will run Monday to Friday, 12-16 April 2021.

Every day, the students will have a ballet class and a jazz/street dance class (there will be a little break time too, we are not expecting them to be dancing for 3 hours!), and will work on a dance routine in each genre.

We also usually do a little show/presentation at the end of the week for parents but this year we will record the routine and send the video to the parents instead. That way, you can still see what they have been learning during the week and keep a memory of it.

Details

Level 1 (5 to 8 years old – or primary/ grade 1 and grade 2) will be from 10am until 1pm.

Level 2 (9 years +  or grade 3, 4 and 5) 1.30pm-4.30pm

The cost for the week is £100.

Venue: The Forum at Greenwich, Trafalgar Road, London, SE10 9EQ.

Safety measures to expect

To minimise the number of people in the building, children will have to be dropped at the front entrance and collected at the back entrance –  no parents will be allowed inside the building.

The students will have to wash their hands/use provided antibacterial gel upon entrance.

Children over the age of 11 years old will need to wear a mask in the corridors (unless exempt for medical reason) but masks can be taken off once in the dance studio as per the current guidelines regarding exercise and mask wearing.

At level 1 your child will be placed in a bubble of no more 14 children, one teacher and one assistant teacher.

At level two your child will be placed in a bubble of no more than 15 children and one teacher .

The bubble will stay the same through the week.

The windows in the studio will be open as much as possible during the classes and the room has been measured to ensure there is enough space to maintain the social distancing guidelines.

Once the morning group leaves, the studio will be thoroughly cleaned ready for the second group, who will have a different teacher so there will not be any cross-over.
